"It feels more like a place I'm trapped in than a home or a place I enjoy being in"

It’s Yun-A here. I read this Reddit post (see below) and it tugged at my heart. The writer deleted her account so I can’t respond. But what a relatable situation.

It gave me the idea to write an email series of conversations guiding her to redesign the apartment she’s 'bored and depressed’ with into a beautiful space she loves.

Would you be open to reading an email series like this over the next few days?

“Getting really bored and depressed about my apartment - ways to make it feel more cozy/comfortable while I wait to move out?” I can't describe it but being trapped in a <700 sq ft* space during the duration of the pandemic just leaves me with bad memories of it. It feels more like a place I'm trapped in than a home or a place I enjoy being in. It's too small to really move furniture around…. I don't have a separate room to do work in… Things are falling apart... I'm always bumping into things... I often feel overwhelmed with the lack of space and how everything is just kind of clumped into one space (it's a 1 BR).

What can I do to make this place more comfortable until I can move out? I feel like I've spent so much time planning my new place that I have forgotten to be present in the place I'm in right now and it makes being here even more difficult. I'm not really good at decorating but if anyone has suggestions it would be helpful.” (paraphrased, read full thread here)

If you like this series idea - a ‘yes’ reply would help me decide whether to write it.

Thank you!
